February 2016 - Debbie - the medical miracle

Many families and most of the Salusbury Road community will have been accosted by Debbie our school nurse to support medical work in Mbollet-ba. The village has no health facilities and there are many problems with common infections that could be treated, and are not.
Debbie joined with nurses and trainees originally from the village but currently employed elsewhere, who came to Mbollet-ba during her visit in February, to voluntarily join her and run clinics of all kinds. Altogether around 250 patients were seen over 5 days. Every medicine that was donated was used - we were able to help with pain, with infections, with child and maternal health problems and much more.
Well done Debbie for an exhausting week of work in difficult conditions. The village of Mbollet-ba was really grateful.
