Gambia Trip February 2017

1st February 2017

As the political situation in The Gambia has settled down, we are very pleased to be able to confirm that four members of our staff will be travelling to our partner school in Mbollet-ba next week. With new leadership, in place under President Barrow, the Foreign Office have advised that it is once again safe to travel.

Breanna Leggett (PE teacher), Donna Harris (Year 2), Lindell Kenna (Year 1) and Tilly Dawson (Reception) will leave on the 9th of February, and they will spend their half term volunteering at the school in Mbollet-ba. As part of their visit they hope to be able to introduce a new sport to the village and support the school staff with the opening of their new nursery. Their nursery has been built partly through kind donations from Salusbury parents; however, it doesn’t have any resources yet.

Though it is late notice because of the political unrest we are now fundraising to buy resources for the school and any donation you can make, small or large, will be gratefully received.

Members of the team travelling to Mbollet-ba will be standing at the gate at drop off and pick up on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week to collect any money you would like to donate.
