Starting Nursery
Starting Nursery is an exciting time for everyone and we cannot wait to meet you all. However, we know it can also be quite scary and there may be lots of questions that you have. Below there are some links and documents that will hopefully give you some information and help you feel more reassured.
Included below is last year's Welcome to Nursery powerpoint, until we have further information regarding the school reopening, we will not be updating the powerpoint; so please bear in mind that some events and activities may not happen in the same way this year.
Please remember, if you have any questions that are not answered here or in any of the information given, you can contact the school and someone should be able to help you.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the current COVID-19 situation affecting new admissions?
Salusbury Primary School is following government guidance which is often updated and therefore subject to change. Until we have confirmation when schools will re-open and how that will look, it is hard for us to plan our usual transition activities, such as meetings, stay and play sessions and home visits. Due to social distancing, even visits to the school to bring in information and return forms is not advised. We will be using our website and email eyfs@salusbury.brent.sch.uk to communicate with our new families.
What is the 30 hour offer?
You may be able to get up to 30 hours free childcare (1,140 hours per year, which you can choose how you take) if your child is 3 to 4 years old. Your eligibility depends on:
- if you are working
- how much you earn
- your child’s circumstances
- your nationality
My child did not get a place, what happens next?
You should have received a letter with a waiting list form asking you to confirm whether you still want the place. The sooner you complete this form, the sooner you will be added to our waiting list but please be reminded that the final date to return the form is Friday, 1st May 2020.
