Welcome to the Year 1 and 2 home learning page. Content will be regularly updated to support parents.
For the latest resources available log-in to the LGfL learning platform please contact the school office with any queries and they will direct it to the relevant staff member.
You will have received information through the LGfL platform/e-mail about the work for each week and the simplified submission. For reference we will be also posting the weekly overviews for Year 1 and 2 here each week. Don't forget to follow our twitter account @SalusburySchool and Youtube account Salusbury School for daily updates.
If you are not able to complete all the activities - please do not worry! Just complete what you can and when it suits your family situation. 
Below are some extra websites you might find useful to support you with your home learning across the curriculum.

Oxford Owl

Oxford Owl are offering free access to all their ebooks. Simply register and you will be able to access a whole range of levelled texts for your child.

Phonics (RWI)

There will be Free Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons on Facebook and YouTube for children to watch at home; three short Speed Sound lessons every day.

From Monday 23rd March, films will show at the times below and be available for 24 hours

Set 1 Speed Sounds at 9.30 am
Set 2 Speed Sounds at 10.00 am
Set 3 Speed Sounds at 10.30 am

Your child should be able to tell you which set they have been doing in school but broadly speaking at this point of the year:
Reception - Set 1
Year 1 - Set 2/3
Year 2 - Finishing Set 3 and higher level reading


All children's books and stories are being provided for free on audible at this time. Sit back and listen to your favourite authors!


White Rose Maths

White Rose (the basis of much of our Maths in school) have created presentations and downloadable workbooks which are easy to use for parents. New material is being released each week.

Number Blocks

This site has videos to support parents with numeracy development for children aged 0 to 6. There are fun activities that can be applied to everyday life and play. There are also linked games and songs for children.

Times Tables Rock Stars

For Years 2 and above, this is a great way to encourage children to learn their multiplication tables. As they play they earn coins which can be used to buy more kit for their rock star. They are graded on speed and as they play they get faster and faster.

My Maths

For Year 2 and above, linked directly to the curriculum and providing both a teaching explanation/input and some practice questions for your child, My Maths offers great support for teaching maths at home. You will be able to access it through your lgfl log-in and teachers will push out appropriate work for your child.


Science Fun

One of the best things to do with children is get messy and make it memorable. The Kids Zone of the Science Fun website is packed with simple experiments to try at home. You'll hate the mess but love the memories you create together.


Purple Mash

Each week, a selection of daily activities will be produced on a range of subjects using their platform. Registration is free.

Busy Things

This is a wonderful resource which you can access using your LGfL username and password. It has sections built for EYFS, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two and is packed with interactive content for almost every subject of the National Curriculum. Have fun while you learn at home!



Señorita Chapela is reminding you to log onto Rockalingua and access the resources, explore videos, games and worksheets. She also would like you to have a look at the Spanish homework projects you could do at home! Challenge yourself and aim for Gold Level! Best projects will be shared on the school Twitter account.

Music's Cool

An online resource site created by Brent Music Service that can be used by parents and children at home. It has various sections – including a page for each year group and a separate page just for Salusbury Pupils!

Physical Activity

PE with the Body Coach

Every day at 9am Jo Wickes (The Body Coach) will be doing a 30 minute PE lesson from his living room. This is great for young and old alike and will help to get the heart pumping and and muscles working in the morning.

Disney Shake-up

10-minute videos based on Disney films that count towards a child’s 60 active minutes per day.

Super Movers

Combine physical activity with some academic learning! These videos help children move while they learn and support curriculum subjects, including Maths and English.
