Reception
Welcome to Reception at Salusbury Primary School
If your child has been offered a place in one of our Reception classes, then you should have been informed by Brent. You now have until 30th April 2020 to accept your offer or risk losing your child's place. Once we have received confirmation of all our new starters we will be in touch with more information regarding the next steps.
Meanwhile, we will be adding information to this page to help support your child's (and your) transition to Reception, so please check back for any updates.
Our Reception classes also use the Tapestry App to communicate, so we will be adding you to our 'Reception 2020' cohort information feed. To find out more about Tapestry, please see the section below.
Tapestry Online Journal
Tapestry keeps you in touch with your child’s life in Reception and it is usually used once your child starts to send you photos and videos of activities that your child is doing at during the day at school.
This year, we will be using Tapestry to support your family's transition to Reception. Using Tapestry, prior to starting, you will receive information and videos that will help you feel a part of the Salusbury family. If your child is already in our Nursery then you should be familiar with how we use Tapestry .
Below is a copy of last year's parent presentation, as well as some guides to support you accessing the app.
Don't forget to download the app for easy access to the information. We will contact you once we have organised your activation.
Starting Reception
Starting Reception is an exciting time for everyone and we cannot wait to meet you all. However, we know it can also be quite scary and there may be lots of questions that you have. Below there are some links and documents that will hopefully give you some information and help you feel more reassured.
Included below is last year's Welcome to Reception powerpoint, until we have further information regarding the school reopening, we will not be updating the powerpoint; so please bear in mind that some events and activities may not happen in the same way this year, including the staff allocated to each class.
Please remember, if you have any questions that are not answered here or in any of the information given, you can contact the school and someone should be able to help you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Salusbury Primary School is following government guidance which is often updated and therefore subject to change. Until we have confirmation when schools will re-open and how that will look, it is hard for us to plan our usual transition activities, such as meetings, stay and play sessions and home visits. Due to social distancing, even visits to the school to bring in information and return forms is not advised. We will be using our website and email eyfs@salusbury.brent.sch.uk to communicate with our new families.
