The role of a School Governor is very demanding but can be incredibly rewarding.

Kate Gater
Kate Gater
Kate is an experienced employment lawyer having worked in private practice and in house for over 25 years. She currently leads the UK, EMEA and APAC labour and employment legal team at NBCUniversal.
Kate lives in West Hampstead with her husband, two daughters and cockapoo. -
Tuba Guclu
Tuba Guclu
Tuba is a Managing Director with Accenture, a management consultancy and professional services firm with15+ years of consulting experience, primarily in aviation and travel sectors. She has advised governments, private equity investors, Boards, C-suite on corporate strategy topics including restructuring, M&A, business planning, commercial strategy, operational improvement and cost reduction. She's been on Salusbury Primary School's Governing Board since October 2021. A British-Turkish dual citizen, she has lived in London for 13 years, and has worked in 20+ countries. She holds an MBA from INSEAD and is a certified Pilates instructor.

Katherine Herzog Parsons
Katherine is Head of Low Carbon Trading Platforms for BP, investing in companies that generate carbon credits. Katherine is on the board of Finite Carbon (the leading North America developer in forest carbon offsets) and the UK government's female entrepreneurship council. Katherine is also a trustee for Neotree - a UK charity that develops technology to empower healthcare professionals in low resource settings to care for newborns.
Katherine has a background in finance and investing. Â She holds a BA in Politics and Philosophy from Durham University and an MA from the War Studies Department, King's College London. Katherine lives locally in Queens Park. She was previously a governor at Westminster City School in Victoria. Â

Karen Kennedy-Medford
I am delighted to be part of the governing body at Salusbury Primary School.
I am in education myself and have been teaching now for sixteen years. I am an Assistant Headteacher at Wembley Primary School. I have taught in Reception, Year 2, 3 & 4, as well as being a Literacy and English as an Additional Language leader. I hope I can bring my knowledge and experience of education to assist with the school's excellent progress. I also hope we can set up links between our two schools.

I am currently the Deputy Headteacher in a large four form entry school and I am responsible for the strategic leadership of the whole school as well as the day to day running of the school. I have taught across the primary range and have led on: teaching, learning and assessment, curriculum design and implementation, safeguarding including facilitating training for schools through The Specialist Centre for Safeguarding which included training staff across Brent schools and other boroughs. When I am not working, I am the mother of two fabulous boys. I also enjoy horse riding, baking and pilates.

Kate Shand
Kate founded Enjoy Education 15 years ago: a mentoring and tutoring company which builds confidence and focuses on bringing out  the potential in every child.   Kate graduated from Oxford University in 2004 and achieved Level 8 (SCQF), Institute of Directors' Award in Finance in 2020.  Founder and Board member (2012 - 2015) of the Tutors' Association, set up to promote best practice in teaching standards.   Kate has lived in Queen's Park for past 10 years with her two boys currently attending SPS. Â

Charles Wood
Charles is a Director at a leading U.K. EdTech company, Century Tech, where he  has grown the business into 48 countries around the world. He has spent the vast majority of his career in overseas educational development. He co-founded Impact Education, a Hong Kong-based company that provides practical English language courses to local students and international schools. His passion for educational technology led him to New York where he worked for the American Youth Literacy Foundation, developing an app-based curriculum to tackle adult illiteracy
