D&T gives children the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of designing and making functional products. At Salusbury we feel it is vital to nurture creativity and innovation through design, and by exploring the designed and made world in which we all live and work
We have invested in a wonderful Design & Technology Space that allows a class of children to have food technology lessons and in Year 3 children have a block of lessons with a Chef from the Royal Culinary Academy to teach practical skills.
Children have the opportunity to cover all areas of the DT curriculum including textiles and mechanisms. We will be developing our curriculum even further to give all the children the opportunity to learn on sewing machines in Years 5 and 6.
