Salusbury Primary School

Science Lead School

Starting in June 2022 and lasting for two years, we are leading a network of local schools in the STEM Learning ENTHUSE Partnerships programme.

This project will give our school the opportunity to strategically shape the improvement of STEM achievement and attainment across 7 partner schools.

Our focus will be on improving key transitions in science, especially the transition from Early Years to Y1.

By sharing best practice and working collaboratively with our partner schools, we aim to address underachievement in science, inspire excellence in the science curriculum and raise aspirations for STEM careers and further study.

The project will involve collaborative training, enrichment and employer activities, including

80 days of face-to-face and online training each year

  • Engagement with industry through the STEM Ambassador Programme
  • Developing STEM Club programmes
  • Developing community engagement activities with families and local community groups

We're proud to be leading this project on behalf of STEM Learning, who are the largest provider of education support in STEM in the UK.

I'm A Mini-Scientist

As part of the Enthuse project, we organised a community event called, "I'm a Mini Scientist" across all 6 schools in the Partnership to empower parents of young children to engage in simple science activities at home. We also created a YouTube channel to provide parents with a go-to resource for science activities. Take a look at the I'm a Mini Scientist channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@ImAMiniScientist

Here is a flavour of just some of the awesome videos the six schools created:
