Welcome
We are a caring, happy, welcoming and vibrant primary school in Queen’s Park with over 700 children and staff, who between them speak 42 languages and have a wide range of skills and talents. We are very much a community school at the heart of Queen’s Park.
Salusbury Primary is committed to ensuring that every pupil leaves our school with high aspirations, an enduring enthusiasm for learning and the confidence to address the world on their own terms. Inclusion is at the heart of our school, every child has the right to be successful, confident and well prepared for the world. It is our belief that a strong sense of self, along with high quality teaching and an exciting holistic curriculum will develop a child’s passion for life–long learning where they can discover their individual strengths and talents within and beyond the classroom.
Our school celebrates the place of all faiths, values and beliefs. We work constantly to create a school family where everyone feels safe, happy and secure. We are proud to be a Rights Respecting School, a Stonewall Champion school and have a well-established partnerships with a range of international schools.
Our children range in age from three to eleven and learn together in a beautifully refurbished Victorian building with sports court and playgrounds. We are very lucky to have our Greenspace, it is Salusbury School’s outdoor classroom. Greenspace is a magical place for our children to learn about nature and wildlife while developing their imagination, creativity and confidence. All our children benefit from our forest school programme. This unique resource only exists because of the wonderful support of our families, pupils and staff.
We have Place2Be counseling services on site and a specialist teaching base where a variety of alternative therapies and sessions take place. We work closely with Salusbury World – a charity that supports and empowers refugee and migrant families.
We are ambitious for our children. Our learning community is facilitated by a leadership structure that clearly communicates the purpose and direction of the school, and a system of informed continuous professional development. Our dedicated and professional staff team actively seek to take up opportunities to further their own knowledge and skills. We are constantly reviewing our curriculum offer to ensure that it mirrors the latest thinking about how children learn.
Our parents and community are key partners. We are committed to working together to sustain our strong sense of community, promote educational achievement, raise children’s self-esteem and engender a sense of pride in our school and ourselves. We believe that parents are the first teachers of their children and that, by working together, we can provide children with the best start to their educational journey. Friends of Salusbury School support the school socially, culturally and financially through a number of fundraising events. All our parents, carers and children support the hardworking team of volunteers whose work contributes enormously to our Salusbury family’s success.
You are very welcome to come and see our school. Appointments can be arranged with our office team.
Warmest wishes,
